When i was a kid way back in 1991, I saw a movie called the Rocketeer. I don't really remember what it was about, but i remember how cool I thought the dude was flying around in his jet pack. People have been trying to build jet packs for years. With the only one of note having extremely short flight time (Bell Rocket Belt) and high price tag, rendering it pretty much useless.
Now Martin Aircraft has decided to piss off regular people by coming out with this personal jetpack. Running on regular gasoline (that's right you can drop down into Sunoco and refill your jet pack) and having a 30 minute flight time, this machine looks promising. Especially when you factor in the $86,000 price tag, while most obviously cant afford that, it is around the price of a new luxury car. Personally i will just be stealing the first one i see.
