I respect Dyson for leading the way currently in innovation when it comes to home products. They are the Apple of home appliances, but with there latest product the Dyson "Air Multiplier" (big expensive fan) they lost me.
I have demoed these fans and while they do work and are cool, the novelty quickly disappears when u factor in the $299 price tag. They now have also released the $450 floor fan. In all honesty the fans are not completely silent and they generate a nice breeze that has a noticeable hole in the middle just like the fan. My $15 Honeywell table fan kicks out more air, has adjustable settings, is smaller, and is barely any louder. Now let's do the math, that's $285 extra dollars, but you don't get any extra performance. These fans in my opinion are a waste of money and should be avoided unless the price falls drastically.
