The HP slate has been teased for months, and now it has finally been announced. Called the Slate 500, the tablet will run on Windows 7 Proffesional and be marketed as a corporate device. It will have a 1.86GHz Atom processor, 2GB of RAM, and a 64GB SSD. The screen measures 8.9 inches and has a resolution of 1024x600. The device houses front and rear cameras. With the iPad already out and the Blackberry Playbook on the way, this tablet seems to be lagging behind when you compare the specs. The main advantages of the Slate will be it's full Windows 7 operating system, and the Wacom digitizer for note taking and drawling with a stylus. The device is set to be priced at $799 which is pretty steep, especially considering that it is an atom powered device. Check out HP's demo video below.
