Sony PSP2 announced: codenamed NGP

With Nintendo launching the 3DS soon, Sony had to make a big splash with it's new mobile system.  The PSP Go was a huge flop, now they are looking to right the ship with the PSP2.  Follow the link for full details.

The system features dual analog sticks, a 5-inch 960x544 OLED touchscreen display, 3G, WiFi, GPS, front and rear facing cameras, rear mounted touchpad, six axis control, Bluetooth 2.1, and an electronic compass.  Sony went big with this one.  The PSP2 might be the first mobile console to offer a home console experience.  With two real analog sticks (not nubs) playing first person shooters properly will actually be possible and enjoyable.  They have eliminated the UMD and are going with a new form of physical media for the games which they haven't shown yet.  The system goes on sale this holiday season, which isn't exactly what everyone was hoping to here.  No pricing has been announced yet.  Check back in the coming months for more details.
