The 2011 Chevy Volt has finally been priced. It will cost $41,000 to buy, $350 a month to lease ($2,500 down). The electric/gas car runs first off of it's Lithium Ion battery, then once that is depleted it takes gasoline and converts it to electricity. It's 40 mile electric range is pretty nice. You could potentially make your commute every day, charge the car at night, and never have to switch to gas. But the difference between this car and an all electric is the ability to switch to gas if needed. While hybrids cut down on emissions the volt has none until the batter dies and it it switches to gas. While the price is high, you can get a $7500 dollar tax credit dropping the price to $33,500.
