Google Maps offers a sneak peak of Android 2.2

Android 2.2 aka Gingerbread is right around the corner, and with the update to Google Maps last week some new sleeker menus were tipped.  Maps is running API 9 while Froyo is API 8.  As you can see in the pictures, the one on the left is the old Google Maps menu, and the right is the new one.  Nothing groundbreaking here, but certainly a cleaner look with more options.  More Gingerbread info as it trickles out.
