Microsoft's Kinect is a hit. It has sold millions of units. Far exceeding many peoples expectation, including mine. So the company that partnered with Microsoft (PrimeSense) to make the Kinect is now teaming up with Asus to make basically the same product just for home PCs. Asus wants people to be able to make be able to control their HTPCs with gestures. It isn't a bad idea, if done properly it could be a great addition to anyone's living room PC. Asus is also going to create apps designed specifically for the Xtion. When you factor in that this would replace your webcam, but add tons of functionality then it is really a no brainer. I can't wait to try this thing out, hopefully we will all finally be able to do our best Minority Report impression.
