Rose Street labs has developed a new solar panel. It consists of 3 different PV cells sandwiched together. Each panel catches a different spectrum of the sun. This supposedly will give a jump in captured energy from around 15% to 35%. The tech is still 3-4 years from being mass produced according to the company, but its promise is undeniable. Using solar as it is currently constructed does not yield nearly as much energy as one would expect, which is why it is probably not as popular as it could be. This could change that.
