Blackberry Playbook Tablet announced

Blackberry is stepping into the ever growing tablet market.  Yesterday at the annual Blackberry developers conference they announced the Playbook.  Instead of directly going after the iPad, they appear to be trying to market this as a professional/business tablet.  The spec sheet is very impressive.  RIM chose to go beyond the competition with the tablets specs as apposed to under with there latest smartphone offerings.  Follow the link to check out the full specs and a video with some shots of the actual OS in action.

The Playbook features a 7" 1024x600 multitouch capacitive screen, weighs 0.9lbs, features a full internet browser with Flash 10.1 and HTML 5 support, front and rear cameras both capable of recording HD video, 1080p video playback, 1GHz dual core processor with 1GB of ram, Blackberry App World, Blackberry Enterprise support, 3G access through existing blackberry service plan, video conferencing, multi-tasking, HDMI out, and DLNA media Streaming.  So as you can see, RIM went for the throat of all its competitors with this one.  The most interesting feature to me was that you could use your existing Blackberry data plan with the Playbook as well, that is a truly amazing cost cutting feature (pay attention apple) that will surely help push the sales of this tablet.  No pricing or dates have been announced.
