Ultraportable laptops are all the rage these days especially with the release of the new Macbook Airs. I've always felt that a laptop should be as portable as possible, while a desktop should have the muscle and screen real estate. The Lenovo IdeaPad U260 is the latest in what is quickly becoming a crowded ultra portable market. The laptop has a unique screen size at 12.5-inches, it will be the only laptop on the market with those screen dimensions. Inside it has a Core i3, along with 4GB of ram and a 320GB hard drive. It is .71-inches thick and weighs in at 3lbs, the casing is cut from a single piece of magnesium-aluminum alloy. It will have integrated Bluetooth, two USB 2.0 ports, VGA and HDMI outputs. The battery will be 4 cells, which leaves a little to be desired but should be solid with the low voltage processor. There will also be an all glass trackpad and a leather palm rest. Lenovo went with some pretty interesting colors. The press shots show a red-orange, and a pinkish-brown color. Pricing starts at $895. I am wondering if there will be an option for an SSD, a bigger battery, or different processors. I guess we will have to wait until Monday for all the details. Check back then for more.
