HTC EVO Shift 4G pictured with it's keyboard

The new HTC EVO Shift 4G has been pictured, this time with its keyboard.  The Shift is smaller then the original EVO with a 3.7-inch screen instead of 4.3, and has a slower 800MHz processor as apposed to the 1GHz found in the EVO 4G.  It will be running run Android 2.2 when it is released.  The Shift is an interesting device in that it is basically a smaller slower EVO with a keyboard strapped on.  I'm actually confused as to why HTC is even making this phone instead of updating the current and popular EVO 4G.
