The iPad currently has a stranglehold on the tablet market, and without much competition it doesn't look like that is going to change. In steps Samsung with the Galaxy Tab. Is this 7-inch tablet an iPad killer, or is it just another Android tablet. Read on for the full video review.
As you can see the Galaxy Tab is a solid entry into the tablet market. However I struggled to think of a reason why you should buy one. At 7-inches it is essentially an over-sized phone that can't make calls. The iPad can essentially replace a laptop, while still having a tiny footprint and being extremely mobile. The Galaxy Tab can't do that. While Videos especially 720p looked great, I often found myself wishing the screen was a little bigger. The browser also was sluggish at times, as was youtube. The Tab seems to have trouble handling pages with heavy flash content, which defeats the purpose of having flash in the first place. At $599 it just feels overpriced, especially if you add on the monthly 3G charge. If you just hate Apple, or you think 10" is too big for a tablet then this is really your only solid option. If you can wait a little though, I would. With the HP slate already up for pre-order, and the Blackberry Playbook on the way better option are right around the corner.
